For the first time in history the Olympic Stadium di Roma opened its doors to host an event dedicated to miniature football. And all this happened Sunday 2 July 2023, At the Monte Mario Gold stand of the Capitoline sports facility, where the long-awaited award ceremony took place Oscar of the Subbuteo 2022, organized by the National Subbuteo Sector of OPES (Organization for Sports Education, sports promotion body recognized by CONI).

The event, organized in collaboration with Sport and Health, was also sponsored by Rome capital city and from Lazio Regional Council and has been inserted within the context of the National Finals of the 2nd Championship of Subbuteo Zeugo single-brand store, promoted by the same National Subbuteo Sector in collaboration with the Promotion Department of FISCT (Italian Table Football Sports Federation).
Subbuteo Oscars, all the winners
The ceremony was attended by Mauro Simonazzi, President of the National Subbuteo Sector which, together with Pietro Ielapi, President of the Italian Table Football Sports Federation (FISCT), a Juri Morico, President of the Organization for Sports Education (OPES), All 'Hon. Luciano Crea, President of the Tourism and Culture Commission of the Lazio Region, and to the Hon. Nazzareno Neri, Regional Councillor and President of the XII Commission of the Lazio Region (Protection of the Territory), they delivered the Subbuteo Oscars to the players, clubs, managers and professionals who particularly distinguished themselves, in 2022, in the field of the disciplines of Traditional Subbuteo and Table Football in the context of sporting events organised by FISCT.
Specifically, the prestigious award was given to: Luca Colangelo (Blue Flames Rome), World Champion and current Italian Champion of Table Football; Morgan Cross (CCT Rome), Italian Traditional Subbuteo Champion in 2002 and World Champion of this specific discipline; Eleonora Buttitta (Subbuteo Club Bagheria), Ladies World Table Football Champion; Edoardo Landi (Ferrara Goal), Under12 World Table Football Champion, Salerno, winner of the Italian Traditional Subbuteo Championship, Blue Flames Rome, who won the Scudetto in the Table Football discipline; Alfredo Palmieri, Technical Commissioner of the Italian Junior National Teams of Table Football; Saverio Bari founder of Subbuteoland (Reggio Emilia) as well as captain of the Italian National world champion of table football and Brothers Bari Reggio Emilia winner of the
Champions League 2022; Daniele Caroleo, press officer of the FISCT and FISTF World Cup 2022; Maurizio Brillantino, founder of the information portal CalcioTavolo.net; Arturo Parodi, representing the historic brand Zeugo, main partner of the event; Juri Moricus, President of OPES.
The winners of the national Subbuteo Zeugo championship
As mentioned, in parallel to this event, the finals of the 2nd Zeugo Single-brand Subbuteo Championship were also played, which saw the participation of 32 athletes (to which we must also add 8 junior players) from all over Italy and who earned the pass for the competition after having passed the various stages, at a local level, organized throughout the country. The 32 participants were divided into 8 groups of 4 players each. At the end of this phase, based on the position obtained in the ranking, the participants had access to the Platinum (for the first classified), Gold (for those who came in second place), Silver (for the third classified) and Bronze (for the players who came in fourth place) scoreboards.
In Platinum Scoreboard (the main one), the victory was achieved by Morgan Cross (CCT Rome), who in the final got the better of Maurizio Presutti (Viterbese Subbuteo) with a result of 4 to 0. In Gold Scoreboard success for Andrea Balestrucci (Viterbese Subbuteo), who beats Marco Perotti (Black Rose Roma) after the Shoot Out (free throws) with a score of 3 to 2.
In Silver Scoreboard è Vinicio Scarantino (Viterbese Subbuteo) to prevail over Antonio Maielli (Valtellana) with the result of 4 to 2. Victory, finally, in Bronze Scoreboard for Stefano Torre (SC Piacenza), who beats Leonardo D'amico (Old Lions Macerata) 2-1. As for the Under Tournament, moreover, the victory was achieved by Lorenzo Sani (SC Sombrero), who beat Jacopo Giampaola (SC Abruzzo Ves Gentes) in the final.
