The elderly farmer had been reached after he was returning home from the fruit and vegetable market in Afragola on board his vehicle, being approached by a large car.
The suspect told him that he would have to pay an administrative fine of 44 euros. Therefore, the subject entered the house to withdraw the money and pay the fine, being followed by the false "Inspector" who, according to the complainant's story, snatched the sum of 600 euros from his hands, then fled.
Following the immediate complaint of the injured party, investigations were activated and the images from the video surveillance system were examined, an activity that allowed the identification of the license plate of the car used by the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
In order not to be traced, he had shaved his head and changed his clothes. However, during the search the clothes used during the theft were found.
The subject was therefore subjected to an arrest warrant issued by this Public Prosecutor's Office. The suspect, who appears to have repeated and specific criminal records, was transferred to Poggioreale prison, pending validation of the order by the GIP.
