Air Campania has used for the first time in the Irpinia capital a latest-generation zero-emission bus. It is the E-Way by Heuliez model GX137 Full Electric, made available to the regional Tpl company by Iveco, equipped with a Siemens IDB2016 three-phase synchronous engine of 160 kW, with a Forsee Power traction battery. The Heuliez GX137 guarantees a range of 350 kilometers.
AIR technicians Campania, headed by the engineer Carmine Alvino, they simulated an entire urban service in the city, with ballast weighing 3 tons (approximately 60% of the expected capacity), on a line route with variable altimetric trend, characterized by flat and uphill stretches, as well as a test on a fast-flowing road, for a total of 35 kilometers traveled with a consumption of 10% of the battery charge.
The 9,5 meter version tested at Avellino It has a capacity of about 60 passengers, 16 of whom are seated, and guarantees accessibility to all categories of users with assistance during boarding and disembarking. Safety is ensured by the EBS and ABS systems with ASR, in addition to being compliant with European anti-rollover regulations. In addition, they are equipped with integrated information screens and video surveillance solutions.
“I thank Iveco for the opportunity it has given us to test this full electric model on the road. Moving towards sustainable mobility means making public transport increasingly efficient, but above all reducing environmental and social impacts in cities”, said the sole director, Anthony Acconcia, who wanted to take part in the test confirming “the company's commitment to moving towards green mobility.
