When they saw that child, just two years old, in the arms of a passing doctor who was performing the first life-saving maneuvers on him, some local police officers Napoli they understood that there was not a minute to lose.
And so they loaded the little boy into their service car and took him to the Santobono pediatric hospital in Naples. The story began when some officers from the Git motorcycle unit, in Via Toledo, were alerted by some citizens who reported the presence of a child of about two years old, of Sicilian origin, on vacation with his family in Naples, who was feeling ill.
The little boy had already been rescued by a doctor who was walking in the area. The doctor reported that he had performed the first life-saving maneuvers, but that the child's conditions were worrying. So the officers did not hesitate for a moment.
They loaded the child and the doctor into their car and, pushing their way through the crowd of people, took the road to Santobono Hospital. During the trip at full speed, the doctor, who had initially helped the child, continued to perform life-saving maneuvers.
The child was then handed over to the hospital doctors who shortly after managed to revive him in a conscious state. The child is still hospitalized at the hospital and the doctors reported that the promptness of the rescue certainly saved his life.
