Since 4:48 today, a seismic swarm has been underway in the Campi Flegrei area. At the moment, 18 earthquakes with magnitudes between 0 and 2.5 have been preliminarily detected.
The most significant event, located in the area of Cigliano, Pozzuoli, occurred at 4:48, at a depth of 2,3 kilometers, with a magnitude of 2.5. Last August 18, for several hours the population of Phlegraean Fields and the western area of Naples was in apprehension due to a seismic swarm with over 100 events recorded in less than 24 hours.
The mayor of Pozzuoli, Gigi Manzoni writes on the institutional Facebook page: “In consideration of the above, the Municipal Administration together with the Civil Protection of the municipality of Pozzuoli is closely following the evolution of the seismic sequence in progress and will provide subsequent updates until the end of the phenomenon”.
