The fire that destroyed an event hall broke out around 3am this morning in Casoria, in the Neapolitan area.
According to initial reconstructions, a bomb exploded inside Diamond – located in via Ludovico Ariosto, in front of the management of district 43 of the Asl Na 2 Nord. The Carabinieri of the local Company intervened on the spot with the firefighters who extinguished the flames and started the investigations.
"The explosion that occurred during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday in the Diamond events hall in via Ludovico Ariosto in Casoria casts disturbing shadows on the safety of citizens and leads to new fears about the criminal presence in our territory. According to initial information, the fire that broke out in the structure was of malicious origin. An episode like this has not occurred in years, in a place that is located a few meters from the headquarters of the ASL, one of the most urbanized areas of the entire city".
Thus in a joint note the deputy of Alleanza Verdi Sinistra Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the municipal councilor in Casoria of Europa Verde Salvatore Iavarone who add: "From the initial findings it seems there were no extortion requests towards the owners of the structure but we hope that the Casoria carabinieri who are investigating will be able to shed light on what happened".
“We believe it is necessary – they argue – in an area between Casoria, Afragola, Caivano and neighboring municipalities, it deserves a strong response from the institutions, starting with a fixed and constant presence of the police and an intelligence activity that can eradicate crime from these places”.
