“Two months of hell, take me to prison”. A 36-year-old from Montoro, in the province of Avellino, presented himself to the Carabinieri of the local station, reporting himself for evasion rather than having to live with his wife in the same house where he was under house arrest.
The man was under investigation for drug dealing and had been under house arrest since last June. Fearing that his escape would not be enough to transfer him to prison, he told the police that if he remained at home with his wife there would be serious consequences.
A moment after the formal complaint for evasion was filed, by order of the Prosecutor's Office, he was transferred to the prison in Avellino.
