Tragedy this afternoon near the Tibetan bridge in Roccamandolfi in the province of Isernia. A tourist from Nocera inferiore, Elianna Caraoccia, 32, lost her life after slipping on a path adjacent to the Tibetan bridge, in a very inaccessible area.
The alarm was raised immediately and the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps intervened, activated by the 118 Operations Center for an emergency technical health intervention. The alert was raised around 14:XNUMX pm today when the young woman from Nocera Inferiore first slipped along a path near the bridge and then fell down a very steep slope in the middle of thick vegetation.
Several Alpine Rescue teams arrived in the area along with the 118 territorial station of Bojano. Identifying the woman was made difficult by the morphology of the territory and the thick vegetation. The Cnsas technicians had to prepare an anchor for a descent with mountaineering techniques of the operators to reach the girl.
The intervention of the air ambulance from Pescara was also requested. When the rescuers arrived near the tourist, it was ascertained that there was nothing more that could be done for the woman due to her serious injuries.
After the authorization of the magistrate and the Carabinieri present on site, the recovery operations of the body began. The operations by the Alpine Rescue technicians in collaboration with the fire brigade personnel are still ongoing.
