Weekend marred by serious road accidents in the province of Avellino with casualties and injuries.
A 33 year old centaur originally from Caserta, headed with other motorcyclists to Monteforte Irpino, died instantly after hitting a tractor, driven by a 50-year-old local man, on the provincial road of Mugnano del Cardinale.The violent impact left him no escape. The 118 paramedics who arrived on the scene could only confirm his death. Last night, on the Avellino-Salerno motorway junction, in the territory of Mercato San Severino (Salerno), a 34-year-old from Santo Stefano del Sole, driving his motorcycle, collided with a car headed to Montoro with four young people on board. Rescued by paramedics and Fire fighters he was transferred to hospital in Avellino.
He suffered numerous injuries, but his conditions are not worrying. Only a big scare for the car's occupants. During the night between Saturday and Sunday last, a 34-year-old from Calabritto (Avellino) lost his life while driving his van, falling from a viaduct of the Fondo Valle Sele.
