The “Seal of the University” was awarded today at the University of Salerno to the Director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, in recognition of his commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of the area and the constant collaboration between the two institutions.
This morning the Director, who received the honor from the Rector Vincenzo Loia, held a meeting with students on the value that new archaeological discoveries have for the cultural and social development of the territories.
In conversation with the Director of the Park are Prof. Luca Cerchiai, Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Sciences (DISPAC) and Prof. Stefania Zuliani, Coordinator of the Doctorate in Methods and Methodologies of Archaeological and Historical-Artistic Research (DISPAC).
“It is a great honor for me to receive this precious recognition – declares Director Gabriel Zuchtriegel – by one of the most excellent universities in Italy that contributes concretely to the protection and research in Pompeii, and in particular for the support, in terms of monitoring, through a digital platform and artificial intelligence. It is an acknowledgement that I also extend to the entire team of the Archaeological Park for the commitment and work carried out daily”.
