From November 10 to 19, at the Augusteo theater in Naples (Piazzetta duca D'Aosta 263), the show “Uomo e Galantuomo” by Eduardo De Filippo will be on stage, with Geppy Gleijeses, Lorenzo Gleijeses and the participation of Ernesto Mahieux.
The direction is by Armando Pugliese, one of the greatest Italian directors, who directed many of Eduardo's works, especially the successes starring Luca De Filippo: "Uomo e galantuomo" is Eduardo's first text in three acts, written in 1922. An extraordinary comic mechanism, it tells the story of a troupe of street actors hired for a series of performances in a beach resort. The rehearsal scene of Libero Bovio's Mala Nova is proverbial, in which a clumsy prompter, continually misunderstood by the actors, gets into all sorts of trouble. Then the love affairs mix with feigned madness, the only way to avoid duels and prison.
On stage Geppy Gleijeses, a student of Eduardo, from whom he received permission to perform his works: this is his seventh performance of the Maestro's works. The last one, that of Domenico Soriano in Filumena Marturano, directed by Liliana Cavani, saw him awarded countless prizes including Best European Actor, from the Accademia Europea Medicea in 2018. Lorenzo Gleijeses, Ubu Prize 2006 as New Actor, Eugenio Barba's favorite student: he has already played Luigi Strada with great success in Ditegli sempre di sì, directed by his father. And Ernesto Mahieux: David di Donatello for L'imbalsamatore by Matteo Garrone. Alongside them, eight other very talented actors”.
