Precautionary seizure of 220 thousand euros for the priest of Caserta Livio Graziano, convicted in the first and second degree for abuse of a 12-year-old. The order was issued by the fourth criminal section (college B) of the Court of Appeal of Napoli after learning of the imminent closure of the bank account in the name of the priest in which the money is deposited.
The judges' fears are linked to the “lack of any information regarding the destination of the money stored there”, circumstance that “leads to the belief that the risk of dispersion of guarantees for the payment of legal costs relating to criminal proceedings is well-founded”.
Last June, the Court of Appeal of Naples (president Luisa Toscano) confirmed the eight-year prison sentence for the priest originally from Lusciano for child abuse. The priest subsequently filed an appeal against the conviction in the Supreme Court.
