"Thanks to the strength of spirit of my colleague, who had the presence of mind to turn on the video recording on her cell phone, we were able to bear witness to what is a daily risk for all of us. In expressing the solidarity of all the outpatient specialists, I also want to thank her; however hard it may be, her testimony is stronger than the violence that was inflicted on her."
This was stated by the national vice president of Sumai, Gabriele Peperoni, in relation to the violent episode reported yesterday by the association Nessuno tocchi Ippocrate.
"We hope that the competent authorities will want to acquire the video, and proceed against the attacker. Those images, which have been making the rounds in Italy, must be considered for what they are, a crime report, and therefore must be taken into serious consideration and acquired as evidence. We await the ASL to apply law 113 of 2020 and proceed with the complaint".
The vice president of Sumai also announces that the union will soon adopt further initiatives, in addition to those already implemented, to try to raise public awareness and at the same time help outpatient specialist doctors to better manage any dangerous situations.
