The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy has issued today three ordinary stamps belonging to the thematic series 'Italian Artistic and Cultural Heritage', of the Philatelic Day dedicated to 'Pen Pals', relating to the value of tariff B equal to 1,25 euros for each stamp.
This was announced by Poste Italiane, which announced that the print run will be 250 copies of the sheetlets, equal to 750 stamps that are printed by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, in rotogravure, on white, neutral, self-adhesive, non-fluorescent coated paper. The three stamps, created on a sketch by Andrea Calisi, are arranged horizontally and interpret the theme of communication through the postal service and depict, in stylised graphics, respectively from left to right: a boy in a cell sitting at a table absorbed in writing a letter from which some letters of the alphabet ideally emerge; a postman on a bicycle, with Vesuvius in the background, busy delivering the mail; a girl in her room reading a letter she has just received.
The stamps are completed by the legends 'Giornata della filatelia' and 'amici di penna', the writing 'Italia' and the indication of the tariff B. The sheet has the following characteristics: it reproduces a photo depicting some of the interpreters of the cast of the Italian television series 'Sea outside', in particular, respectively from left to right, Nicolas Maupas, Matteo Paolillo, Maria Esposito, Vincenzo Ferrera and Massimiliano Caiazzo. At the top, the logo of the famous TV series 'Mare fuori' stands out.
The sheetlet is completed by the legends 'Giornata della filatelia', 'amici di penna' and the credits 'Rai radiotelevisione italiana', 'Picomedia', 'fotosabrina cirillo/ assunta servello'. At the bottom right, there is the bar code for the automatic detection of stamps. The first day of issue cancellation will be available at the philatelic counter of the Lucca center post office. The stamps and related philatelic products, postcards, cards and illustrated bulletins will be available at the Post Offices with a philatelic counter, the “Spazio Filatelia” in Florence, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Rome, Rome 1, Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona and on the website filatelia.poste.it.
For the occasion, a four-page A4 philatelic folder was also created, containing a block of four stamps, the little book, three cancelled and stamped postcards, three first-day covers and the illustrated bulletin, at the price of 25 euros.
