Naples. The Metropolitan City of Napoli announced today the start of work on 54 new construction, expansion and renovation projects on public buildings used for school purposes, for a total investment of 200 million euros.
The interventions will affect the entire metropolitan area, from the city of Naples to the islands, from the coast to the Vesuvian-Nolan area.
Among the main interventions planned, there are the construction of new schools in Afragola, San Gennaro Vesuviano, Terzigno and Ischia, the construction of new gyms in various buildings, the renovation of school buildings also in the city of Naples and the verification of the seismic vulnerability of all schools in the metropolitan area.
“Today is a great result, because it certifies the achievement of a goal that we set ourselves when we were informed of the possibility of presenting projects within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – declared the metropolitan mayor, Gaetano Manfredi -. We have made every effort to be able to set up interventions for all the funds that we were able to intercept, and so it was”.
"These are interventions that are added to the many works already in the pipeline financed with the Authority's own funds - continued Manfredi -. Now all that remains is to continue working hard to complete this entire infrastructure plan as soon as possible, to guarantee the best conditions for our girls and boys for their education, so that they can prepare themselves in the best way to face the challenges that the future will bring them".
The works, which will be carried out by local companies, will begin in the next few months and must be completed by 2026.
