The third edition of Positano Racconta continues and concludes tomorrow, December 19: at 16.00:17.00 pm, conversation between Anna Voltaggio and Antonio Pascale on the word FRUSTRATION, moderated by Pier Luigi Razzano; at XNUMX:XNUMX pm, conversation between Diego De Silva and Peppe Fiore on the word VIOLENCE, moderated by Pier Luigi Razzano.
Gender culture and femicide were the central themes of the meeting with students that inaugurated the third edition of Positano Racconta this morning. “Four Words. Notes for a sentimental education” is in fact the theme of this edition of the literary review curated by the De Sanctis Foundation scheduled for December 18 and 19 and financed by the Campania Region (POC 2014-2020 funds) through Scabec.
“In Positano we put a shooting star in which there are all the names of the women who were killed by despicable men. Our task is to talk to young people about feelings but also about violence in all its declinations, today we are doing it” declared Giuseppe Guida, Mayor of Positano.
The meeting with the students on the novel “Ragazze perbene” by Olga Campofreda was introduced by Anna Marchitelli. Ragazza Perbene is the story of a girl who confirms the stereotype “good and respectable, who follows a path already traced but instead would like to follow desire, the freedom to go towards a different road. She learns it by moving away: the solution is to learn to name feelings” explains the author Olga Campofreda.
A beautiful participation of boys and girls from classes II A/B and III A/B of the secondary school of I degree of Positano with their teachers and the headmistress Stefania Astarita welcomed the actress Romana Maggiora Vergano who read some significant pages of the book “L'ho uccisa perché l'amavo (falso)” by L. Lipperini and M. Murgia, written 10 years ago and in these days in reprint. A strong empathy was established between the students and the actress who commented: "Parents are an example for their children, we need to establish comparisons because they represent challenges. They need to know that we understand much more than they think or imagine. The important thing is to learn to talk about these things, to learn to use the right words so as not to simplify these issues."
“We are certain that this initiative is very important to raise awareness among our students about gender culture and femicide. To be able to get the kids to ask questions, to listen.
Starting from the relationship as possession, then jealousy, loss and frustration that translates into violence when it comes to femicide. It is important to be able to give a name to emotions” commented the school principal Stefania Astarita. Lisa Ginzburg, addressing the kids, invited them to read the book by Murgia and Lipperini with these words: “it represents the clichés about masculinity and femininity, about the relationships between men and women, in which ancient concepts are rooted. The book is an invitation to eradicate these concepts. We must have the humility to start over and reset this mentality, starting to do a thorough job as we have done today”.
The students were an active part of the meeting, among the issues raised the question of the students was striking: “Women's emancipation is scary, how can it change?” to which one student replied: “I changed with the help of the professors”.
The day continued with the conversation between Benedetta Palmieri and Yari Selvetella, on the word LOSE and with the conversation between Lisa Ginzburg and Massimiliano Virgilio on the word JEALOUSY, both moderated by Lidia Luberto.
