Winning short films of the XIV edition of the festival produced by Alchemicarts.
The awards for the best short films of the year were assigned in Naples. The 45th edition of CortiSonanti, the international short film festival directed by Nicola Castaldo and Mauro Manganiello, presented 3200 works selected from over 2023 entries. Organized by AlchemicartS with the support of the Campania Region and the Film Commission Campania (a project co-financed by the Piano Cinema) and the patronage of the Municipality of Naples, CortiSonanti XNUMX saw a broad cross-section of new Italian and international cinema alternate at the Sala degli Angeli in Castel Nuovo.
During the final evening of this edition (9-15 December), hosted by Lorenzo Crea, the works and protagonists of the finalist short films, selected by the technical jury chaired by Rosita Marchese, were awarded prizes.
The short film “Dive” by Aldo Iuliano triumphs in two categories, the Best Prize 2023 and the award for best Italian short. The New Zealander “Rustling” by Tom Furniss (already awarded at the Tribeca Film Festival and selected for the Academy Awards) wins in the international shorts category.
Among the documentaries, the victory goes to “Dream of Glass” by Andrea Bancone, while in the sports section the triumph goes to “Un cuore due colori” directed by Marco Maraniello, which features Alessandro Orrei, Maddalena Stornaiuolo, Francesco Piccirillo and Vincenzo Pirozzi in the cast.
In first place among the music videos comes “Giacca di Spine” by Valerio Matteu while among the short films in the animation category “Coralli” by Valentina Bizzantino and Maria Matilde Fondi triumphs.
Nando Paone for “Il mare che muove le cose” by Lorenzo Marinelli and Fernanda Pinto for “Un bacio di troppo” by Vincenzo Lamagna won the award for best actor and best actress. Daniele Babbo for “La Neve Coprirà tutte le cose” won the award for best direction. Sebastian Bonolis also received awards for best photography for “Europa 52” by Andrea Viggiano and Riccardo Pittaluga as best screenwriter for “Il soggetto assente”, a short film of which he is also the director.
The winners of the three parallel contests of this edition of CortiSonanti are: “Malamore” by Pierluigi Braca (Social Short Web), “La casa sul mare” by Fulvio Davide Ricca (ECOrti) and “Io non sono così” by Giorgio Verrone (La cittadella del corto). Special Prize awarded to director Laura Angiulli, guest of this edition.
