The Torre Crawford APS Association establishes the 2024th edition of the Torre Crawford Award for unpublished stories, which will be presented in San Nicola Arcella (Cosenza) next September during the Torre Crawford Festival XNUMX.
The Award draws inspiration from the work of the American author Francis Marion Crawford, a historical reference of Italian culture and society in the English-speaking world, who wrote many of his works in the tower that now bears his name in San Nicola Arcella. The Jury is chaired by the writer Andrea Carlo Cappi.
The complete announcement for Sections A (adults, with registration fee) and B (free, for high school students under eighteen) is available on the official website, at

The mandatory theme of the fifth edition is Mea culpa and can be approached through any narrative genre (humorous, detective story, romance, horror, science fiction, fantasy, etc.) or in a mainstream key.
The jury will examine the texts anonymously. The deadline for submission, according to the methods indicated in the announcement, is April 30, 2024 and the maximum length of the stories must be 20.000 characters.
Section A – Italian citizens of legal age – The finalist stories selected by the Jury will be published in a paperback and ebook anthology, published by the Torre Crawford Association. The prize will consist of a certificate of participation and one or more copies of the paperback edition, in the quantity specified in the announcement. Selected authors may order additional copies from the Prize Secretariat with a 15% discount on the cover price.
Section B – Secondary school students under 18 at the time of submission – At its discretion, the jury will select stories from among the finalists in this Section for publication in the anthology or on the official website. The prize will consist of a plaque or certificate of participation, possible publication and in this case a free copy of the volume; for the first classified story, free participation in Section A for the following edition. Selected authors may order additional copies from the Prize Secretariat with a 15% discount on the cover price.
The jury of the Award also reserves the right to award two additional certificates, in homage to two Italian authors:
• The Special Prize “E io lo dico a Pinketts!”, in memory of Andrea G. Pinketts, in collaboration with the Cultural Association named after him, for the story that most stands out for its surreal humour close to the writer's style
• The Special Prize “Il Prof”, in memory of Stefano Di Marino, for the story that comes closest to the writer's characteristic taste for popular narrative.
