The parking lot of the former Ipercoop in Afragola has become the scene of clandestine car races, with videos of the competitions posted on social media. The high-speed races, supposedly involving modified cars, take place in the evening hours in front of an enthusiastic audience.
The deputy of the Green and Left Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli has received a new video that documents this practice, which he has been denouncing for years as extremely dangerous, while the city administration seems not to intervene.
Borrelli insists on the importance of increasing surveillance of the area during the night hours to prevent serious accidents. He also asks for greater collaboration from shopping centers, involving them in the management of the space in front.
Furthermore, he proposes that videos published online could be useful to the postal police to identify and stop participants in clandestine races.
