Capua, neighbors' car set on fire: the 4 defendants ask for sentence reduction

The preliminary hearing for the four people of Capua arrested at the request of the PM Gerardina Cozzolino and with an order of the GIP Emilio Minio.

They anticipated continuing the trial against them with the abbreviated procedure before the Preliminary Hearing Judge, Daniela Vecchiarelli. The four defendants are accused of the arson raid of the cars of some neighbors and of attempted extortion.

These are Claudio Sinapi, 62 years old, a well-known bodybuilder from Capua and owner of a gym, currently detained under house arrest; his wife, Annamaria Fortino, 52 years old (defended by the lawyer Giuseppe Stellato), Renaldo Likaj, 26 years old and Gazmir Shahu, 39 years old, both Albanians (defended by the lawyer Paolo Di Furia and Romolo Vignola). In the trial, CG, CL, CM will constitute themselves as civil parties against the two Albanian citizens with the lawyer Gaetano Crisileo.

The trial started following the serious threats addressed to the owner of a house by Sinapi and Fortini who commissioned the Albanians to set fire to the cars of the offended people with the aim of buying the neighbors' house at a ridiculous price.

Sinapi and Fortino are also accused of stalking the family of the offended persons with threatening expressions. A long investigation by the Carabinieri of Capua has allowed them to nail Claudio Sinapi and his accomplices who also ended up in prison.

The next hearing is scheduled for June 28th. In this hearing, the abbreviated trial will most likely be discussed and the civil parties' constitutions will be finalized.
