The film directed by Vito Zagarrio, is based on the novel “Le seduzioni dell'inverno” by Lidia Ravera and will be in theaters starting from February 22, 2024 distributed by Artimagiche Film srl and Cavadaliga Film srl.
The film boasts a talented cast, including Andrea Renzi, Ameliè Daure, Marit Nissen, Iaia Forte, Antonella Stefanucci, Antonello Cossia and Serena Marziale, and was shot in Naples and Campania.
The plot revolves around Stefano, a forty-year-old editorial director, whose life takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of Sophie, a mysterious French woman. His love for Sophie seems to awaken Stefano from a period of emotional torpor, but when everything seems to be going well, the woman disappears, bringing dramatic developments to the story.
The director defines “Le seduzioni” as a dramatic novel and a reflection on contemporary society, highlighting the contradictions of a certain bourgeois class. “The seductions – the director underlines – it is a romance but not of a pure genre and with dramatic implications; a portrait of a certain generation and a cross-section of a certain society; a reflection on the Italy of the new millennium seen through the contradictions of a certain middle/upper bourgeois class. All with an unpublished, unconventional Naples, that of Vomero and of intellectual circles. A sort of 'thriller of feelings' that involves and intrigues. Love, pain, disappointment and hope are feelings of today, of a humanity that gets lost when the intimate and private sphere disintegrates. And yet life can still offer us its seductions”.
Produced by Artimagiche Film srl and Cavadaliga srl, it was made with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, the Campania Region and the CPA – Centro Produzioni Audiovisive Università Roma Tre. “Le seduzioni” benefits from the direction of photography by Federico Angelucci, the editing by Roberto Perpignani, the scenography by Adolfo Recchia, the costumes by Giovanna Napolitano and the music by Paolo Vivaldi.
