Yesterday evening, the Carabinieri of the Varcaturo station intervened following a report from the local police, discovering a body in an advanced state of decomposition under the overpass near the Strada Statale 7quater from Pozzuoli to Lago Patria.

Blankets, a bivouac and personal effects were also found at the site, but no identification documents. According to the coroner appointed by the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, the man's death dates back to about two months ago and there do not appear to be any signs of external injuries.
The body was seized by the Carabinieri and transferred to the hospital in Giugliano in Campania for the autopsy ordered by the Naples North prosecutor's office.
