On March 7, 2024, the wanted Colombian RGO was arrested at Porto airport in Portugal, pursuant to a prison order issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples.

The man had been on the run for about 32 years and had been sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1992 for international drug trafficking. After evading arrest, the search was extended internationally, culminating in his arrest while traveling from Canada to Portugal.

The operation was conducted by the Operations Department - Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Naples, the Naples Flying Squad and the GICO of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, with the support of international offices of the DEA and the Service for International Police Cooperation of the Ministry of the Interior.
