Last night, eighty migrants from Catania they have arrived at Napoli, as announced by the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari.
These individuals were assigned by the Ministry of the Interior to the Campania region as part of the national distribution plan for foreign citizens seeking asylum.Among the transferred migrants there are adult men and a family unit of three children. They have been distributed among the provinces of Campania and have found temporary hospitality in the Extraordinary Reception Centers (CAS) active in the region. Here, they will await the necessary examination of their applications for international protection by the competent Territorial Commission for the recognition of refugee status.
The asylum seekers, mostly Syrians, Pakistanis, Egyptians and Senegalese, had arrived in Lampedusa in the previous days and, after the usual identification operations, had been transferred to the first reception centre in Catania, from where they were then redistributed in the Campania region.
