Umberto “Senatur”, father of Riccardo Bossi, remains a point of reference for those in the League who would still like “Nord” in the symbol in contrast to the national aspirations of Matteo Salvini. On the other hand, Riccardo Bossi, the eldest son of the founder of the Carroccio, has a lot to think about.
It has emerged that he is being investigated for fraud against the State in relation to the undue receipt of citizen income, which he collected between 2020 and 2023. Riccardo is accused of having received 280 euros per month for 43 months for a total of 12.800 euros.
Nadia Alessandra Calcaterra, the Public Prosecutor of Busto Arsizio, states that this income was strictly linked to the rent of an apartment to support the payment. However, the investigations show that Bossi had already been evicted from this apartment for non-payment, hence the accusation of fraud against the State.
Riccardo Bossi, with the help of his lawyer Federico Magnante, has decided not to respond. He will have 20 days to request to be heard and present defense arguments.
This is not the first time that Riccardo Bossi has ended up in the legal news. In 2020, the owner of a restaurant in Milan reported him for not paying a 240 euro bill for a Christmas Eve dinner.
