Today the areas of the historic Station Napoli Bayard to begin work on securing the complex.
This important step will allow the realization of the definitive functional recovery works of the area, a long-awaited goal that marks a significant turning point for the city.The intervention is the result of a long and constructive dialogue between all the parties involved, culminating in the delivery to the Municipality of the area between Corso Garibaldi, Via Enrico Cosenz and Via Santa Maria delle Grazie in Loreto. This process was started after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in December 2023, involving the Municipality of Naples, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples, the Superintendency and FS Sistemi Urbani, the leading company of the Urban Hub of the FS Group.
The agreement has allowed a reconsideration of the properties of the old Bayard station in Naples and the surrounding areas, with the primary objective of protecting and enhancing the cultural heritage of the city. This means not only ensuring the safety of existing structures, but also creating new spaces for citizens.
In a note, Palazzo San Giacomo underlined the importance of this step forward for the Neapolitan community, highlighting the benefits that the new spaces will bring to the city's residents and visitors. This opens a new phase of work and collaboration that aims to give back to the city one of its most emblematic places, renewing its cultural and social vocation and opening new opportunities for its future development.
