On the occasion of the 90th birthday of the iconic Italian actress Sofia Loren, the city of sorrento is preparing to host an extraordinary event that celebrates its life and its deep bond with this splendid coastal location.
The Piacere Sorrento Association, in collaboration with the Raffaele Celentano Gallery, LABout by Stylo Project, About Sorrento and with the precious support of the English Inn and the patronage of the Municipality of Sorrento, is pleased to present an extraordinary photographic exhibition dedicated to Sofia Loren.
The exhibition, which opens on Saturday 27 April at 19pm, will be held in the charming Vicolo II Fuoro, the narrowest alley in Sorrento, which leads to the characteristic seaside village of Marina Grande, a place that was the set of the film with Vittorio De Sica “Pane Amore e…” of particular importance for the growth of the unforgettable diva of Italian cinema.
The initiative is the first activity of the “ARS FUORO” project of the Piacere Sorrento association which aims to safeguard the artisan destination and the historic workshops of the quadrilateral of Via Fuoro, Via San Nicola, Vico II Fuore and Vico III Fuoro.
Walking through the alley, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the life and career of Sofia Loren through the collection that photographer Raffaele Celentano has collected over the years, which offers a unique and intimate look into the life of the actress, capturing precious and unforgettable moments that have defined her legendary career in cinema and beyond.
The exhibition is a tribute not only to Sofia Loren, but also to the city of Sorrento, which played a significant role in her life and in her heart.
