There was a dramatic turn of events in the second degree trial for Raffaele Gallo, 24-year-old son of the boss of the Penniniello district of Torre Annunziata, Francesco 'o pisiello: the young man was in fact sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted murder.
Raffaele Gallo had mistakenly shot and wounded a friend instead of the real target, his uncle, to punish his mother for having an affair with another man while her husband was in prison.
His accomplice, Vincenzo Falanga, known as 'o gemello, was also sentenced to 13 years. Both are linked to the Gallo-Cavalieri clan of Torre Annunziata. The verdict is the result of a trial that lasted years and overturned the first-instance sentence that had acquitted the two defendants.
In October 2018, in fact, the first instance judges Torre Annunziata they acquitted the two even though the prosecution had asked for 13 years in prison.
According to the prosecution, on the evening of January 27, 2017, they attempted to kill Salvatore Iovane, Gallo's maternal uncle, but left Vittorio Nappi, who had no criminal record and was with him, at the point of death.
The reason for the attack was revenge against the mother's family who had left the father in prison and had started a relationship with the son of the ruthless Gionta killer, Umberto Onda, a bitter rival of her ex-husband.
