Out from Tuesday 3 May 2024, the official video clip of the song Gladiators of Vesuvius (Sud in Sound) text and music by Giovanni Busiello (author, composer, trumpeter and flugelhorn player) with the collaboration of Marco Colucci, Super Allan, Salvatore Esposito, Tino Simonetti and the narrative voice of Andrea Lubrano Di Giunno. With Gladiatori del Vesuvio, Sud In Sound directed by Gennaro Franco and Aniello Misto, supports a new solidarity project.
The song, in fact, wants to be an example for the kids, in order to help them rediscover, through the passion for football andlove for a legend like Maradona, those values of the past, which have been lost over the years.
"The song – comments Giovanni Busiello – It was born while watching a video of Maradona. Overcome by melancholy and wonder at what he could do with the ball, I wrote down the melody and then the lyrics.
The title is inspired by the Battle of Vesuvius in 73 BC – a clash between a Roman militia commanded by the praetor Gaius Claudius Glaber and a group of rebel slaves led by the rebel gladiator Spartacus – which I wanted to connect to the fighting spirit of Maradona who loved this shirt more than anyone else”.
The project involved the students of the San Giovanni Bosco Comprehensive Institute of Volla, where Busiello teaches Music Education, as well as the actor Marco Colucci, the sports journalist Giovanni Visone, known as Super Allan, and also Salvatore Esposito (singer, actor, dancer, lead voice of the musical Cera una volta Scugnizzi), the singer Tino Simonetti and Andrea Lubrano Di Giunno (actor, voice actor and voice over artist).
“A special thanks – adds Busiello – goes to Gabriella La Marca – Headmistress of the San Giovanni Bosco Comprehensive Institute and to the literature teacher Dario Russo, both of whom have contributed greatly to the realization of this project".
The videoclip directed by R-AVI Production of Riccardo Avitabile was produced by Sud in Sound (of Gennaro Franco and Aniello Misto) and was supported by Cosenza Group, Sasà Caffè Palma Campania and by Amici di Pozzoromolo of Palma Campania. https://youtu.be/aeeoKy1tI8c?feature=shared
