More seizures in the prison of Avellino of telephones and electronic equipment used by prisoners.
In the social room of the high security unit, ten smartphones with their respective chargers, a modem router, a scale and an Allen key, probably used to dismantle the cell furniture, were found and seized.
This was announced by Raffaele Troise, of the provincial secretariat of Uilpa-Polizia Penitenziaria. The seizures occurred during a routine search of the areas frequented by the inmates.
“The importance of the discovery – Troise underlines – depends precisely on the detention circuit in which it was made. Some of these prisoners, at the head of criminal gangs, continue to lead illicit trafficking even from inside the prison using telephone devices.
Our applause – concludes the unionist – goes to the current management of the Avellino prison and especially to the officers who, despite the bare minimum staff, have once again demonstrated great professionalism and self-denial”.
