The Centro Direzionale station on line 1 of the Naples metro is ready for the testing phase. This was announced by the president of Metropolitana di Napoli spa, Paolo Carbone, during an inspection with the mayor Gaetano Manfredi and the Mobility Councilor Edoardo Cosenza.
“The work is finished and now the tests begin to ensure the complete functionality of the station,” Carbone explained. “We are confident that the first trains will be running by the end of 2024.”
The new station stands out for its size and brightness, and is designed to facilitateinterchange with the other lines of buses and trams already active in the area. Its construction favored the use of silent and low environmental impact systems, with the use of large prefabricated wooden modules.
In addition to improving sustainable mobility in the city, the Centro Direzionale station will also have a positive impact from an urban planning point of view. Its modern design enriches the skyline of the Business Center with an iconic element that will contribute to improving the liveability of the area.
Kaos 48: “Good initiatives by the municipality to relaunch the area”
The opening of the station is also welcomed by the cultural association Kaos 48, which is based in the creative factory Lab Area 35 in via Giovanni Porzio. “We are excited about this new infrastructure,” the founders declare Stephen Nasti e Fabrizio Scomparin. “We believe that the Centro Direzionale station, together with the new Courthouse, will contribute to the definitive revitalization of the entire area.”
Kaos 48 invites Mayor Manfredi to visit their spaces to learn about their urban, social and cultural regeneration initiatives. “We are convinced that collaboration between the public and private sectors is fundamental for the sustainable development of the territory,” conclude Nasti and Scomparin.
