Auletta. Antonio Pucciarelli, the 78-year-old man who was seriously injured last week due to a gas leak in his home in Auletta, in the province of Salerno, passed away today at the Cardarelli Burns Center in Naples.
Unfortunately, despite the care provided by doctors, the burns suffered by the man in various parts of his body proved too serious, ending his life after days of agony.
The elderly man had been rushed to the Cardarelli immediately after the accident, in very serious conditions. The rescuers, who promptly intervened on the spot, found him lifeless due to the gas fumes and the flames that had spread inside the house.
The funeral of Antonio Pucciarelli will be held on Monday 17 June at the church of Sant'Antonio in Auletta.
The news of his passing has caused great grief in the community of Auletta, which joins the family in their grief at this sad moment.
