ACERRA – A fire that broke out in a first-floor apartment on Corso della Resistenza caused the death of a 54-year-old man and seriously injured his partner.
According to an initial reconstruction, the flames broke out in the kitchen of the house, perhaps following a sudden blaze, and then quickly spread to the entire apartment.
The man was found lifeless inside the house, while the woman, suffering from serious burns, was rushed to the Major Burns Center of the Cardarelli hospital in Naples. The woman's parents were unharmed, but in shock, and at the time of the fire they took refuge on a balcony waiting for help.
The Local Police and the State Police intervened on site, and are collaborating to clarify the causes of the incident.
