Avellino. A 118 health worker from Avellino was stabbed in the head while providing assistance to a 60-year-old woman who was unwell in her home in Lacedonia.
The attacker, the woman's 59-year-old brother, already known to the police for psychiatric problems, barricaded himself in the house after injuring the rescuer.
The Carabinieri of the local station intervened on the scene and, after having broken into the house, disarmed and arrested the man.
The healthcare worker, assisted by other 118 colleagues , was transported to Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi Hospital. His condition is not serious.

The arrested man was reported for personal injury and, by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino, was entrusted to medical custody for an evaluation of his psychopathological state.
Investigations are still underway to reconstruct the facts in detail.
