Avellino stabs 118 operator and then barricades himself in his house: arrested

Avellino.

THEattacker, the woman's 59-year-old brother, already known to the police for psychiatric problems, barricaded himself in the house after injuring the rescuer.

The Carabinieri of the local station intervened on the scene and, after having broken into the house, disarmed and arrested the man.

The health worker, assisted by other colleagues of the 118, was transported to the hospital of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi. His conditions are not serious.

The arrested man was reported for personal injury and, by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino, was entrusted to medical custody for an evaluation of his psychopathological state.

Investigations are still underway to reconstruct the facts in detail.
