Following the brawl the presidency office of the Chamber broke out yesterday House of Representatives has ordered, in addition to the 15 days of suspension for the member of the Northern League Igor Iezzi, also "the 7-day suspension of the honourable members Amich, Cangiano, Furgiuele, Mollicone and Stumpo.
And another 4 days to the honorable Donno3 days for the honorable Amendola and Candiani2 days for the honorable Scotto and Stefanazzi.
The Speaker of the House announced it in the Chamber Lorenzo Fontana. “The sanctions take effect immediately”, added Fontana, “are communicated to theAssembly and in no case can they be the subject of discussion".
“I would like to point out that what happened in yesterday's session as a whole must be severely stigmatized by the presidency: political confrontation, even on divisive issues, can never transcend into physical confrontation, into offending others, into violence and therefore into harming the decorum of the institution. I am not saying this to protect one part but the institution as a whole”.
“I can only recall – added the third highest office in the state – all members of parliament and group presidents are responsible for avoiding the repetition of attitudes or words which, in addition to causing offence or violence towards others may undermine the image of this institution that we are all called to responsibly represent in front of the citizens and this regardless of the sanctions to be imposed on individual deputies".
