The boss Salvatore D'Amico 'o pirata had an arsenal, guarded by the film producer, Daniele Muscariello, and with which he was ready to unleash a war to take control of the illicit activities in Rome.
This is what emerges from reading the 400 pages of the precautionary order, signed by the investigating judge of Rome, Emanuela Attura, and which two weeks ago led to the imprisonment of 16 people with 57 suspects.
The leading figure of the Mazzarella clan of Naples, together with his son Umbero, had established relationships with Antonio Nicoletti, son of one of the founders of the Banda della Magliana and with Vincenzo Senese, son of the Camorra boss who had been the undisputed master of Rome for years, Michele, known as 'o pazzo.
Moreover, his nephew Umberto Luongo himself, who has become a collaborator of justice, told the prosecutors of the Rome DDA that o' pirata aimed to become the new boss of Rome and for this reason he made use of an unscrupulous character like the film producer Daniele Muscariello, a key figure in the investigation.
Sentenced to 9 years in prison for money laundering by the Rome court and reached by another precautionary measure in prison for money laundering with mafia methods, he was the trusted man in the capital of the Camorra clan of the D'Amicos.
It is read in the ordinance regarding Daniele Muscariello “he is the organizer of the association's economic-criminal policy, as he identifies and recruits entrepreneurs to involve in the money laundering system and maintains relationships with representatives of the institutional world in the broad sense and members of the police force (reference is made to the relationships with the Tremiterra and the lunch with high ranking officers of the police force).
He favored the entry into the association of Salvatore D'Amico, understood as pirate, increasing the economic and military strength of the gang. He takes part in numerous meetings with the leaders of the association, to address the critical issues that emerged within the recycling center after the arrest of Salsiccia on June 6, 2018.
He manages on behalf of the organization large amounts of illicit capital, coming in particular from the D'Amico/Mazzarella clan, necessary to feed the money laundering center.
Together with Salsiccia he is responsible for an arsenal of weapons kept in the Roman territory, weapons made available by Salvatore D'Amico, known as o' Pirata, to guarantee the gang an effective and immediate fire action when necessary.
In order to protect the interests of the gang, he planned with Salvatore Ventura an attack against Salvatore Pezzella and Stefano De Angelis, guilty of not paying the gang the profits from the money laundering activities managed in the capital with Coppola, an event that did not occur following the sudden death of Ventura (28.09.2018).
Together with Lombardi, Antonio Nicoletti and Salsiccia, he provides his associate Salvatore D'Amico with a Mercedes car to use for trips to the capital, in which he traveled with false documents. He takes care of the maintenance of the detained associates, in particular Salsiccia”.
