A French horn in honor of Giò Giò Cutolo: the gift of the President of the Regional Council of Campania, Gennaro Oliviero, to the Comprehensive Institute “Castel Volturno – Villaggio Coppola” in Pinetamare.
The President of the Regional Council Gennaro Oliviero delivered to the Comprehensive Institute “Castel Volturno – Villaggio Coppola”, in the Pinetamare area, a French horn in memory of Giò Giò Cutolo, the young man who lost his life last August 31 in Naples.
The initiative was born during the presentation of the International Music Competition organized by the association “La Fenice”. On that occasion, Giò Giò's mother, Daniela Di Maggio, explained that at the Comprehensive Institute of Castel Volturno a small wind orchestra dedicated to her son had been created.
The only thing missing was the horn, the instrument played by Giò Giò, which President Oliviero has decided to donate to young and promising musicians.
“The role of the school is fundamental in building a wealth of culture and relationships, which are the foundations of a cohesive community. This school, in this particular and symbolic place for our Province and for our region, demonstrates every day that it carries out an activity of great value.
Around music we grow together and break barriers. By investing in art and culture, our country can truly grow and be reborn”, Oliviero said.
“I am honored by this visit and by this gift that the President wanted to give to our school. Some lights are being turned on in this territory, in this school in particular, starting from last year when Father Antonio decided to donate all the musical instruments to us.
The only thing missing was the horn, which finally arrived. A heartfelt thank you to everyone. Our boys are thrilled and we will never leave them alone”, declared the school principal Vincenzo Maiorca.
