The goal is to intercept the polluting material before it reaches the beaches, helping to keep the marine environment clean and ensuring safer and more pleasant use of the bathing areas.
The vessel was purchased thanks to funds made available by the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno and the Salerno Pulita Spa, a company owned by the Municipality of Salerno that also takes care of cleaning the city beaches. The project was realized thanks to a memorandum of understanding with the Marina d'Arechi Port and the Port Authority, which allowed the resources necessary for its implementation to be deployed.
The special vessel was officially presented this morning at Porto Marina d'Arechi. It will be used by Salerno Pulita staff, adequately trained to carry out daily cleaning and hydrocarbon collection operations. These operations aim not only to reduce marine pollution, but also to raise awareness among citizens on the importance of respecting the environment.
The street sweeping service will be operational at the following times:
– Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: from 07:50 to 13:10
– Friday, Saturday and Sunday: from 08:00 to 16:00
