A new beach sweeping service, part of the "Mare Azzurro" project, will begin next Monday in Salerno. This initiative, available six days a week, will cover the stretch of coastline from the Villaggio del Sole to the Baia beach resort. The project involves the direct involvement of residents, who can report critical issues and problems related to marine pollution via WhatsApp at 3473261419.

During the summer season, the special vessel used for the beach sweeping service will be able to collect up to one ton of hydrocarbons and floating debris. The goal is to intercept pollutants before they reach the beaches, helping to maintain a clean marine environment and ensure safer and more enjoyable use of beach areas.

The vessel was purchased thanks to funds made available by the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno and the Salerno Pulita Spa, a company owned by the Municipality of Salerno that also cleans the city's beaches.

The project was realized thanks to a memorandum of understanding with the Marina d'Arechi Port and the Port Authority, which allowed the necessary resources to be deployed for its implementation.

The special vessel was officially presented this morning at the Marina d'Arechi port. It will be operated by Salerno Pulita staff, specially trained to perform daily cleanup and oil spill collection operations. These operations aim not only to reduce marine pollution but also to raise public awareness of the importance of respecting the environment.

The street sweeping service will be operational at the following times:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 07:50 a.m. to 13:10 p.m.
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 08:00 am to 16:00 pm
