The Plot of the Show
The Sound Machine features Gina, an activist and inventor, and Toni Salvo, an entrepreneur with the ambition of entering politics. The woman, known for her battles in favor of sustainable development and against climate change, demonstrating with her collective, has long been trying to prevent the man from building a public housing complex in the city in place of the last city park. Gina is determined, in any way, to avoid the umpteenth environmental violence. The story takes a strange turn when the activist manages to build a machine, "the sound machine", precisely, which seems to perceive the pain of plants, managing to give them a voice. Toni Salvo, however, has no intention of standing by and watching. In politics, in fact, the voice is not enough, you have to know how to use it.
An Important Message
"What if somewhere in the world, not too far away, there were innocent lives suffering because of the interests of those in power, and they can’t do anything because they have no voice?” This is the question posed by director Mario Ascione, who continues by explaining that: "The show wants to talk about the enormous effort that certain people make to bring to light a truth that most of the world doesn't know, to make things change. But what happens when this truth reaches the ears of those who really have the power to change the status quo? Often nothing, because it is a truth that is too uncomfortable, too complicated or because it goes against the personal interests of the powerful."
