Next weekend will be the most hot of the year, as witnessed by the red dots of the Ministry of Health which indicate the cities where health is most at risk due to high temperatures.
After today's 7, 9 are expected on Saturday and 14 on Sunday, more than half of the 27 urban centers monitored in the ministry's heat wave bulletin.
Today Brescia, Campobasso, Frosinone, Latina, Palermo, Perugia and Rome are 'red': Rieti, expected to be red for today, has been 'downgraded' to orange, which indicates the heat risk for the most fragile segment of the population.
Rieti itself will be added to the list of the red dots, together with Florence, and on Sunday Bolzano and Genoa will also end up on the list, Napoli, Verona and Viterbo, with Lazio the only Italian region with all 5 provincial capitals with the highest level of heat risk for the entire population.
An increase is also expected for the orange dots: after 7 today (in addition to Rieti, Bolzano, Florence, Genoa, Naples, Rieti, Verona and Viterbo), there will be 11 on Friday (Bologna, Bolzano, Civitavecchia, Genoa, Messina, Naples, Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona and Viterbo).
On Sunday there will be 10 (Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Civitavecchia, Messina, Milan, Reggio Calabria, Turin, Trieste and Venice).
