The Farnesina announces that Manuela Ruosi has assumed the role of Italian Ambassador to Monaco starting today.
Born in Naples on April 2, 1964, she attended the "Belforte" Linguistic High School. In 1988, she earned a master's degree in Political Science with honors from the Oriental University Institute of Naples.
Manuela Ruosi entered the Diplomatic Service in March 1992. From 1992 to 2000, she worked as Deputy Director at the General Directorate for Cultural Relations, Cultural Events Abroad section.
In July 2000, she was assigned to the Italian Embassy to the Holy See as First Secretary. In February 2005, she became Deputy Secretary at the Directorate General for the Americas, section dedicated to Latin American and Caribbean countries.
From December 2006 to July 2011, he held the role of Vicar at the Diplomatic Protocol of the Republic, Office for Relations with the Diplomatic Corps, Privileges and Exemptions.
In August 2011, she was appointed First Secretary for Trade at the Italian Embassy in Tunis. Returning to Rome in January 2014, she assumed the role of Head of Office at the Directorate General for Country Promotion, Cultural and Multilateral Cooperation (UNESCO) and Archaeological Missions Section.
In July 2014, she was promoted to the rank of Legation Counsellor. In March 2016, she assumed the role of Head of Office at the Diplomatic Protocol of the Republic, Relations with the Diplomatic Corps, privileges and exemptions.
She was promoted to the rank of Embassy Counsellor in July 2020. Since 5 August 2024, Manuela Ruosi has been Ambassador of Italy to the Principality of Monaco.
She has received numerous awards: the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Republic in 2003, that of Dame Commander of the Order of St. Gregory the Great of the Holy See in 2005, the Cross with Coat of Arms of the Order of Merit Melitense in 2005, the Cross with Crown of the Order of Merit Melitense in 2018, the Order of the Royal House of Sweden on the occasion of the State Visit in 2018, the title of Knight of the Equestrian Order of Saint Agatha of the Republic of San Marino in 2022 and the Cross with Star of the Order of Malta pro merito melitensi.
