The Carabinieri of the Portici station, during an anti-drug operation in San Giovanni a Teduccio, surprised 54-year-old Giuseppe Formicola – already known to the police – while he was selling a dose of hashish to a customer.
Subsequently, the search was extended to his home in the Vasto district of Naples, where further doses of the same substance were found and seized, hidden in a hole in the wall of the balcony.
The military also seized drug packaging material, a video surveillance system and the sum of 475 euros in cash.

The man's wife and two children were reported at large for aiding and abetting.
Giuseppe Formicola was arrested and, as per procedure, taken to the barracks to draw up the documents before being transferred to the headquarters for photo identification and then to prison.
