The Archaeological Park of Ercolano celebrates the European Heritage Days
The Archaeological Park of Ercolano is ready to celebrate the last weekend of September with the European Heritage Days (EHD). This initiative, promoted by the Council of Europe and the European Commission, is the most widely attended cultural event in Europe and, in Italy, is coordinated by the Ministry of Culture.
Guided Tours and Digital Initiatives
During the days of September 28 and 29, the Park will offer guided tours and special openings, along with several digital initiatives. This year's theme, "Heritage on the move", will guide the activities organized in museums and cultural sites throughout Italy. On Saturday, September 28, daytime openings are planned at ordinary costs and, in the evening hours, shows and illuminated paths at the symbolic price of 1 euro.
Evening Explorations: Herculaneum Fridays
On Saturday 28 September, from 20:00 pm to midnight, the Park will relive the atmosphere of summer evenings with “I Venerdì di Ercolano”. This event, which has been very successful in the past, will be repeated with artistic performances by “Teatri 24” and guided tours. A unique opportunity to explore the streets of the ancient city in a new light, literally.
The House of the Gem and the Gardens of Idleness
On Sunday, September 29, visitors will be able to access the extraordinary opening of the Casa della Gemma, a historic residence known for its exceptional black and white geometric mosaics. In addition, it will be possible to visit the Giardini dell’Ozio at the Casa del Rilievo di Telefo, an area recently opened to the public. Here, visitors will be able to enjoy the “pomegranate garden,” which offers a shady and relaxing atmosphere for a “slow” visit.
Opening Hours and Useful Information

A European Cultural Embrace

A moment of cultural union and sharing that finds in the Archaeological Park of Ercolano one of its most fascinating expressions.
