Now in its 9th edition, the largest International Turkish-Tatar KURULTAI Festival will take place from 27 to 29 September at Turqoise Beach in Venus, Mangalia.
The Festival is realized and organized by the Tatar Democratic Union with the patronage of CNR-UNESCU and the support of the Ministry of Culture of Romania. The participation of delegations from 40 countries is expected.
The Festival program includes 15 traditional Tatar sports games, 10 of which have been included in the UNESCO intangible heritage, 5 World Cups, food stands and fantastic traditional music and dance performances, a wide range of creative workshops.
The incendiary show is highly anticipated, with famous artists such as Arslanbeck Sultanbekov, a true legend of Central Asia. There is a large representation of artists from Crimea with Rustem Memet, the very talented Turkish artists from Turksoy, Gagauzia ensemble, and other artists from other countries such as Bulgaria, Hungary etc. The young local artist Tania Murgu, from Dobrogea, will also delight the audience.
An important moment of the Festival will be the International Conference on the theme “The Revitalization of Traditions”, which will be held on September 27 under the patronage of CNR-UNESCU.
The official opening of the KURULTAI 2024 Festival on September 28th in front of guests representing the participating countries, the Romanian institutions and personalities and authorities from the world of politics, economics and sports.
As always, this initiative of the UDT and President Naim Belgin will have the aim of contributing to the knowledge of the Turkish-Tatar ethnic traditions for the intercultural integration of peoples in mutual respect.
