The Bianca d'Aponte Award for Female Singer-Songwriters: An Unmissable Event in Aversa
The twentieth Bianca d'Aponte Award for female singer-songwriters will be held at the Cimarosa Theater in Aversa on October 25 and 26, with important media partners such as Rai Radio1 and Rai Radio Techetè and the patronage of Rai Campania. The event promises to be an unmissable event with performances by the finalists of the competition and illustrious guests of Italian music.
Lifetime Achievement Award and Guests of Honor
Among the protagonists of this year's edition, Teresa De Sio will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the City of Aversa, an award previously given to artists of the caliber of Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, Peppino di Capri, Paola Pitagora and Mauro Pagani. Margherita Vicario will be the godmother of the event, will preside over the jury and will perform a musical tribute to Bianca d'Aponte, the singer-songwriter in whose memory the award was established.
Guests and Expected Performances
The stage will also feature godmothers from previous editions such as Simona Molinari and Cristina Donà with Saverio Lanza. Other notable guests will include Chiarè (Chiara Ianniciello), winner of last year's edition, who will have the honor of opening both evenings, Malvax, winners of the Music for Change contest, and a group of students from the Cirillo classical and musical high school in Aversa who will pay homage to Bianca d'Aponte with a song. Further names will be announced by artistic director Ferruccio Spinetti.
The Heart of the Event: The Contest for Female Singer-Songwriters
The central point of the event remains the contest for female singer-songwriters, with ten finalists selected by a Guarantee Committee. This year's finalists are Beo (Rome), Irene Di Brino (Livorno), Fremir (Naples), Gama (Matera), Giulia Leone (Cagliari), Valentina Lupi (Rome), Kalika (Naples), Magma (Caltanissetta), Anna Sara (Massa Carrara) and Sara Torraco (Matera). The members of the Committee will also be part of the juries, the general one and the critics' one, assigning the prizes during the final evenings in Aversa.
Prizes and Awards
The winner of the overall prize will receive a scholarship of €1.000, while the “Fausto Mesolella” Critics’ Award, dedicated to the memory of the event’s historic artistic director, will award a scholarship of €800. The general jury will also award plaques for the best text (dedicated to Oscar Avogadro), the best music and the best interpretation. Numerous other prizes and bonuses will be awarded by members of the jury or by organizations and associations close to the d'Aponte Prize.
Presenters and Musical Accompaniment
The evenings will be hosted by Carlotta Scarlatto and Ottavio Nieddu, while a resident band, directed by Alessandro Crescenzo, will accompany the performances of some competitors and guests. The 20th Bianca d'Aponte Award promises once again to be an unmissable event for lovers of singer-songwriter music, celebrating emerging talents and honoring icons of the Italian music scene.
