Musical Journey along the Alifana Line
On October 12, 2024, travelers on the Campania Alifana railway line will have the opportunity to live a unique musical experience, with the live music of Mariano Bellopede that will resonate among the carriages of the train. While traveling from Naples to Piedimonte Matese, passengers will be immersed in the atmospheres of the album “Le città incantate”, exploring, through the notes, the places that inspired the music.
An Experiment in Cultural Revitalization and Connection
Behind this initiative is the “Pontinpietra ForumLabStation” project, which aims to revitalize the stations along the historic ex Alifana railway line. This initiative not only brings attention to often overlooked territories but also uses music as a tool for connection and cultural enhancement. Co-financed by the Campania Region and included in the “Quality of Architecture 2023” call, it involves experts such as engineer Gianfranca Mastroianni and geographer Amelia Maris Ile.
Music and Villages: A Tribute to Historic Places
“Le città incantate”, recorded in 2023, is a musical tribute to the Italian villages, with compositions that evoke stories and views of towns that seem out of time. Mariano Bellopede and his ensemble will help transport passengers to these places with their melodies, offering a sound journey that celebrates the historical and cultural legacy of the Italian villages.
The Social Value of Stations
In addition to offering a memorable musical experience, the event aims to transform train stations into hubs for territorial connection and dialogue. According to Gianfranca Mastroianni, stations can act as meeting points for institutions, citizens and local economic-cultural actors, promoting shared development based on local resources.
Revitalizing the Ex Alifana Line Stops
Since 2020, Pontinpietra has been involved in a project to renovate the stations along the Napoli C.le – Piedimonte Matese route. With the support of EAV and other sponsors, the initiative aims to enhance local cultural resources, through events and activities that encourage community participation. The goal is to improve the physical and social spaces of the stations, stimulating new ideas and proposing solutions to promote the progress of the territory.
The musical journey of October 12th represents more than a simple performance, acting as a reflection on the often overlooked beauty of Italian villages and the untapped potential of historical places such as train stations, offering a perspective of rebirth and shared cultural connection.
