A municipal police officer was attacked and taken to slaps a Greek's tower last Saturday.
The episode occurred at the beginning of the traffic policeman's shift, around 14 pm, when he was approached by a 26-year-old man, already known to the police in the Piazza Santa Croce area.
According to the reconstruction by the municipal police command, the young man initially began to swear at the officer, then suddenly hit him in the face with several slaps.
The attack was stopped thanks to the intervention of the policeman's colleagues, who with difficulty immobilized the 26-year-old and took him to the station for identification.
The victim was instead transferred to the emergency room of the Maresca hospital, where doctors diagnosed wounds and bruises that were deemed curable in seven days. The young attacker, after the usual formalities, was reported to the judicial authorities on charges of contempt and injury to a public official.*
