Tengo Genio is the new season of the Pietà de' Turchini Foundation: a comprehensive program celebrating musical genius from past to present. Paying homage to the historicity of musical genius and a call to innovation, the Foundation inaugurates its 27th concert season with numerous events, concerts, and thematic festivals that showcase musical talent and ingenuity.
The 2024 / 2025 season
The season will kick off on November 9 at the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena, with a concert dedicated to Marcantonio Orrigoni and Alessandro Stradella. Silvia Frigato and the Ensemble Mare Nostrum, directed by Andrea De Carlo, will pay homage to these great composers of the seventeenth century, while the celebration of the three hundredth anniversary of the death of Alessandro Scarlatti will be a central moment of the season, including concerts and publications dedicated to his cantatas. In addition, the program includes international conferences and competitions, including Cantieri 2024 and the Francesco Provenzale International Baroque Singing Competition. These events, together with masterclasses and festivals such as A Canne spiegate and Musiche sulle Vie della Seta, aim to stimulate dialogue and the discovery of new musical languages.
Concerts and major openings
Among the season's many events, noteworthy are the recital dedicated to Alessandro Scarlatti and the concert of unpublished cantatas, which will be performed by soprano Valeria La Grotta.
