Naples. Discovered and seized by the Aosta cavalry the Giannelli clan's arsenal: the police snapped the handcuffs on the wrists of a long-time criminal like Domenico Pugliese, 54 years old, in whose cellar was also seized a kilogram of hashish divided into eight blocks.
The arrested person is also the father of Enzo Pugliese who in November 2022 had suffered an attack with gunshots. Unknown persons, on that occasion, fired some gunshots against his home, on the first floor of the building on via Marco Polo hitting a balcony.
The discovery of the arsenal was made by agents of the Bagnoli Police Station who checked Pugliese's home at number 23 Via Marco Polo in the Cavalleggeri area.
In a cellar registered to a relative of the 54 year old, but whose usufruct was found
exclusively of the latter the police found 8 blocks of hashish with a total weight of approximately 1 kg, a 7,65 caliber “Browning” machine gun with the serial number erased, a 9×12 caliber “Beretta”, also with the serial number erased, 14 cartridges of various calibers, a precision scale and 2 bulletproof vests.
The clash between the Giannelli clan and the Esposito-Nappi
The weapons were sent to the scientific section to establish whether they had been used recently in criminal acts. The area has been at the centre of a clash between members of the Giannelli clan and those of the Esposito-Nappi clan hit by a blitz last September that led to 17 people being sent to prison, including the boss Massimiliano Esposito o' scugnato and his wife Maria Matilde Nappi.
