The community of Postiglione is in shock over the tragic death of Domenico Caputo, 36, who was the victim of a dramatic accident at work. The man was crushed by his truck in the yard of the family business, located in the local industrial area. According to an initial reconstruction, the vehicle started moving on its own, overwhelming Caputo as he tried to stop it.
The truck, out of control, also hit the gate and the fence wall of the structure. Despite the desperate attempts of resuscitation by the 118 rescuers, there was nothing that could be done for the young man. The investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri of the company of Eboli, are in full swing.
Investigators are checking whether the company's security cameras recorded the crucial moments of the accident. In the meantime, testimonies have been collected from people present in the courtyard at the time of the tragedy. Today, coroner Marina D'Aniello will perform an autopsy on Caputo's body at the morgue of Battipaglia hospital. The external examination carried out previously did not dispel doubts about the dynamics that led to the death. The aim is to ascertain any responsibilities related to the maintenance of the vehicle or possible negligence.
